Developed for achievement in a real workplace environment, this internationally recognised qualification assesses and verifies your existing skills, knowledge, training and experience in supervising others in your occupational area.

After completing this NVQ and passing the 5 Day CCDO Demolition Supervisor course and the CITB Specialist Supervisory Health, Safety & Environment Test, you can apply for your gold CCDO CSCS card.

Certification

NVQs are lifetime qualifications. However, gold CCDO cards must be renewed every five years.

To get a 5-year CCDO gold card with CSCS logo, you’ll need to complete this Level 4 NVQ, pass the 5 Day CCDO Demolition Supervisor course, and pass the CITB Health, Safety & Environment test for Supervisors.

NVQ Level 4 – Construction Site Supervision DEMOLITION

How does it work?

  1. Your assessor will call you to carry out a profile and ensure this is the right course for you.
  2. You’ll have your induction via Teams with your assessor who will take you through the process and induction paperwork.
  3. We will carry out the knowledge portion of the qualification with you through a series of virtual professional discussions.
  4. In the meantime, you’ll collect your evidence using our detailed guide.
  5. If required, we’ll visit you at work to record observations that will support your evidence.
  6. Once the evidence and professional discussions have been completed, we’ll obtain a testimony from your line manager or similar witness.
  7. We’ll sign off your portfolio and have it checked by our internal verifier before claiming your certificate from the awarding body, NOCN.
  8. We’ll receive your certificate and pass it on to you.

Course funding

If you are up to date with your CITB levy returns, there are different ways in which you can receive funding for this qualification.

  1. Claim a £1250 grant back upon completion of the qualification.
  2. Apply for a Skills and Training Fund to use towards your training costs.

The CITB Skills and Training Fund can be used in tandem with CITB grants to get the entire cost of the course covered, with the grant paid on completion of the qualification.

What’s covered?

The Level 4 NVQ in Construction Site Supervision (Demolition) is made up of fifteen units:

  • Allocating and monitoring the use of plant, equipment, or machinery
  • Assessing and agreeing work methods
  • Contributing to the control of work quantities and costs
  • Controlling work against agreed quality standards
  • Controlling work progress against agreed programmes
  • Coordinating work control
  • Developing and maintaining good occupational working relationships
  • Implementing communication systems for the project
  • Implementing, maintaining and reviewing systems for health, safety, welfare, wellbeing and environmental protection=
  • Planning work activities and resources to meet work requirements
  • Supervising demolition activities
  • Supervising the installation, maintenance, monitoring and removal of temporary works
  • Coordinating preparation for site operations
  • Maintaining supplies of materials to meet project requirements
  • Planning demolition activities
