NVQ Level 6 – Construction Site Management DEMOLITION
An essential, lifetime qualification for demolition managers
Developed for achievement in a real workplace environment, this internationally recognised qualification assesses and verifies your existing skills, knowledge, training and experience as a demolition manager.
If you have already taken and passed the five-day CCDO Demolition Manager course and therefore hold a red CCDO Demolition Manager card, you can apply for your black Demolition Manager card upon completion of this NVQ.

This Level 6 NVQ is suitable for you if you are already working as an experienced demolition manager.

Certification
NVQs are lifetime qualifications. However, black CCDO cards must be renewed every five years.
Length
On average, this NVQ takes between 3-6 months to complete, depending on how much time you’re able to dedicate to it.

NVQ Level 6 – Construction Site Management DEMOLITION
How does it work?
- Your assessor will call you to carry out a profile and ensure this is the right course for you.
- You’ll have your induction via Teams with your assessor who will take you through the process and induction paperwork.
- We will carry out the knowledge portion of the qualification with you through a series of virtual professional discussions.
- In the meantime, you’ll collect your evidence using our detailed guide.
- Once the evidence and professional discussions have been completed, we’ll obtain a testimony from your line manager or similar witness.
- We’ll sign off your portfolio and have it checked by our internal verifier before claiming your certificate from the awarding body, NOCN.
- We’ll receive your certificate and pass it on to you.
Course funding
If you are up to date with your CITB levy returns, you can claim a £1500 grant back upon completion of this qualification.
This grant can be claimed in conjunction with the Skills and Training Fund.

The Level 6 NVQ in Construction Senior Management (Demolition) is made up of twenty units:
- Allocating work and monitoring people’s performance
- Contributing to the identification of a work team
- Controlling project progress against agreed programmes
- Controlling project progress against agreed quality standards
- Controlling project quantities and costs
- Developing and maintaining good occupational working relationships
- Ensuring that work activities and resources meet project work requirements
- Establishing, controlling and monitoring environmental factors and sustainability
- Establishing, implementing and maintaining organisational systems for managing health, safety, welfare and wellbeing
- Evaluating and confirming work methods
- Identifying and maintaining communication systems and organisational procedures
- Identifying, allocating and planning the deployment and use of plant, equipment or machinery
- Managing the installation, maintenance, monitoring and removal of temporary works
- Managing the project handover
- Managing your personal development
- Monitoring project activities
- Organising, controlling and monitoring supplies of materials
- Planning demolition activities
- Planning the preparation of the site for the project
- Evaluating feedback and making recommendations
