Who is the Forestry First Aid course for?
The Level 3 Award in Forestry First Aid qualification is ideal for those who work (or intend to work) in a forestry, agricultural or remote environment, such as tree surgeons and farmers.
Forestry First Aid Course Overview
This course provides learners with the knowledge and practical competencies needed for the treatment of injuries and diseases that could occur whilst working in a forestry/agricultural specific environment.
This qualification is designed to accompany a regulated First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid at Work qualification and has been specifically developed to meet the recommendations of the Forestry Commission First Aid at Work Policy.

Forestry First Aid Course Content
The Level 3 Award in Forestry First Aid qualification covers a range of topics, including
- Catastrophic Bleeding Control
- Crush injuries
- Effects of extreme temperature
- Lyme disease
- Emergency planning and remote medical assistance
Forestry First Aid Assessment
1 x Practical assessment and 1 x Theory assessment.
Forestry First Aid Certification
The qualification is valid for 3 years and to re-qualify learners will need to complete the full course again. It is recommended that the learner attends annual refresher training.
