First Aid Training
Your trainer will be John Owen. John has participated in many First Aid courses over his years in the outdoor industry and in teaching but the hardest he has ever completed have been more recently since he has become a member of a Scottish Mountain Rescue Team. Apart from the usual outdoor instructor two day qualifications, he also has a Casualty Care qualification, underwritten by the Independent Scottish Mountain Rescue organisation, and he is an Emergency Medical Technician too, a qualification gained through his involvement in Mountain Rescue. He is a Chemistry teacher by training and, having risen to the dizzy heights of being a headmaster, he now runs his own company called The Outdoor Training Company. He is still registered with the General Teaching Council of Scotland as well as being registered as a ski instructor, International Mountain Leader and a canoe and kayak coach. He currently delivers SQA First Aid training for a local council and has invariably received good feedback from his courses. He is delighted to be involved with JRS Training and Assessment providing relevant and enjoyable courses that are designed to give participants the confidence to get involved should they be confronted with an incident. He looks forward to meeting you!
